Owning a car is no longer a privilege, but more of a necessity. We get to enjoy the weekends with the convenience of traveling and when an emergency arises, situations can be managed easily with a car readily available. However, there are some things that frustrate car owners including the rising price of petrol. Let’s continue to read and learn some tips on how to improve your car’s mileage. Take It Easy On The Pedal
Sometimes, we try to live our fantasies of becoming an F1 racer or be one of the guys in the Fast and the Furious. Unfortunately, this is not the best way to save on fuel since you technically require your engine to push you faster. Remember that the faster you go, the higher the drag is to the car. The same goes when coming to a stop. So please, go easy on the pedals. Use the Recommended Fuel Type for the Vehicle Let’s remember that the manufacturers always test the cars using its ideal fuel type so you need to use what the car manual says. If you need to put in unleaded fuel, then you have to trust them since the manufacturer is the professional. Do take note that you follow the octane rating recommendation of your car. Inflate Tires to the Correct Pressure This is one of the easiest--and cheapest--ways to improve your car’s mileage. That said, many motorists overlook this part. If you are running on low tire pressure, this will increase the vehicle’s rolling resistance to the ground which leads to robbing you off your precious fuel. Make sure that you check your car's tires before you roll out to be able for you to make any necessary adjustments to your car. Reduce Drag Try to avoid putting roof racks or any other storage accessories on your car. The added weight will not only increase your fuel consumption but it will increase the aerodynamic drag. To put it simply, an increase in drag will make your car’s engine work harder, burning gas. Proper Maintenance To ensure better car mileage, take care of your car by doing regular maintenance on it. Better check with your insurance plan and see if they have good coverage that will help you in maintaining your vehicle. I am glad to read such a useful article about the way one could increase the gas mileage of a vehicle. Use of under-inflated tire has a negative influence on the fuel economy of the vehicle. So, tire pressure should be inspected regularly and if necessary tires should be properly inflated. Besides, the quality of the engine oil also has a significant influence on the fuel economy of the vehicle. So, the quality of the engine oil should be inspected and the burnt engine oil should be replaced with suitable substitutes. For more assistance, contact

Gas mileage or fuel efficiency of a vehicle is the distance traveled per unit volume of fuel consumed. There are so many ways to improve the mileage of a vehicle. We must adhere to the vehicle's recommended fuel type. Inflating the tires to the correct air pressure also helps to increase the fuel efficiency of a vehicle. The gas cap should be kept fully sealed. Idling consumes more fuel . So, we should avoid prolonged idling of the vehicle. The easier task for improving gas mileage is regularly replacing the air filter.
